22nd December 2024 question-box

At our Sunday evening services, we’ve introduced the question box. It’s fairly simple: write a question, put it in the box, and then at some future date, and I will try to answer it within 2 minutes, from the bible. I’m definitely not all-knowing, but I am convinced that in His word, God has given us everything we need for godly living.

And question are really helpful. Questions promote learning. They prompt us to come to the text of the bible and notice things that we hadn’t been looking for previously. And of course, answering questions was one of the ways that Jesus taught his disciples to live for God amid the challenges of everyday life.

We’ve had some really thoughtful questions in the three months since we introduced the question box. So my intention is to post in this blog some questions and answers that we’ve already covered in the evening service. Let’s see if I can post one answer per week. And if you have your own questions, come along and put your question in the box.
