C3PO speaks the truth

Did he really say that? C3PO in the new Star Wars flick? “Thank the Maker!” or some phrase like that? Well, knock me down with a light-sabre! That’s a first. A reference to a Creator, right there in a film about the midichlorian-machinations of the Force.

Maybe it was a slip of the robotic tongue, like those who say, “Thank God”. Maybe it was a Disney intrusion into the religious world of Lucas. Maybe C3PO gave out a spoiler for episodes eight and nine, which will move away from karmic-balance, and discover the power of grace.

Funny how little things can slip out, even in the most tightly controlled script. In fact, those little expletives can tell a lot about a person’s soul. There was an occasion when the disciples returned to Jesus bubbling over with excitement at the spiritual sights that they had seen: The kingdom of grace strongly advancing and the dark side losing ground. The storm-troopers of hell dropping their weapons at the sound of Jesus’ name.

And then Jesus let the words slip out, which revealed the true state of his heart and the real ambition of his soul: “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.” Not, “OMG, that’s amazing!” – which is a tell-tale soul-window – but a full-hearted praise to a Father personally known.
